Adverse reaction to hepatitis B vaccine ?
After receiving the Hep B vaccination, I have developed what appears to be a skin reaction commonly associated with an allergy around the outskirts of my mouth. I have read that the Hep B shot may have yeast components that could cause a reaction of this type. Could this be the case and if so, what can I do to alleviate the discomfort of this red and itching reaction.
Hepatitis B vaccine contains a hepatitis B protein, which is manufactured in Sacchromyces yeast. Side effects to the hepatitis B vaccine is very rare, but may be seen. Whether the rash you experience is indeed an adverse reaction to the vaccine or just coincidental is difficult to tell.
The best treatment would be a mild cortisone ointment like a 1% hydrocortisone, which usually is available at any pharmacy without prescription.

Hepatitis risk in Thailand
I am travelling to Thailand and I am going to stay just for 2 weeks. I would like to know the risk of being without vaccination against hepatitis A and also I really dont want to take pills against malaria. I am goiing travel mainly in the south, just 2 days I will spend around Kanchanburi province.
It is difficult to put precise number on the risk of hepatitis A, but it is not negligible and we definetely recommend vaccination, both because we think you need it and because the vaccine protect for up to 20 years and tehrefroe also benefit you on future travels.
The malaria risk in the areas you mention is very small, and we do not recomment malaria pills here.

Side effects from hepatitis B vaccination
Could you please tell me what the side effects can be of having the Hepatitis B vacination. Since having my first two injections I have had problems with my reflux tests have shown that I have increased acids in the top part of my stomache, these symptons conincide with the Hepatitis B vacination.
No, I do not think that there is a connection. I have never heard or seen such side effects to Hepatitis B vaccination, and I can not imagine a mechanism that can explain such side effects to the vaccination.
It must be pure coincidence and in case it was your first Hepatitis B vaccination, I would recommend that you continue the scheme as planned.
