Jeg har været ude at rejse i 8 måneder og er blevet vaccineret mod Hepatitis A og B to gange. Kan jeg få vaccinen en gang til? Vil den så virke i 10 år herefter, eller er der gået for lang tid?

Du kan sagtens vaccineres nu mod hepatitis A og B (Twinrix) efter 8 måneder. Faktisk kan den 3. Twinrix vaccination gives i hvert fald 3 år efter de 2 første vaccinationer, måske endnu længere. Det er så din 3. vaccination, og du er så beskyttet 20 år mod begge sygdomme.



Do vaccines against hepatitis A also protect against hepatitis B and C?

I have previously been vaccinated against hepatitis A, and had now been advised to be vaccination against hepatitis B before I leave for Indonesia. I thought I was vaccination against hepatitis and not only hepatitis A?

There are different hepatitis viruses and the most common is hepatitis A, B and C. Vaccines against hepatitis A and B do only protect against A or B, so a hepatitis A vaccine does not protect you against hepatitis B and a hepatitis B vaccine does not protect you against hepatitis A. There is no vaccine against hepatitis C.
