Yellow fever in Paraguay

The Ministry of Health has informed that at least 12 cases of yellow fever has been found in Paraguay and additional 5 suspected cases are under observation and follow up. The cases are spread over the country including the provinces of San Pedro, Caazapa and the capital Asuncion. An immunization campaign has been started to control the outbreak.

Comment 
All travellers to Paraguay should be immunized against yellow fever from today and until further notice. Paraguay is bordering southern Brazil, and the outbreak underlines the importance of yellow fever immunization also when visiting Brazil.
