Specialist of Infektious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, working at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Aarhus University Hospital - Skejby, Aarhus, Denmark. 

Eskild Petersen has been working with tropical and travel medicine for almost thirty years. He has worked with malaria for several years in Afrika.

Eskild Petersen has been principal investigator on several studies of efficacy and side effects of malaria drugs used for prophylaxis and was chairman of the national advisory panel on malaria prophylactics appointed by the National Board of Health.

Eskild Petersen is co-editor of ProMED, which is a news service reporting about diseases World wide under International Society for Infectious Diseases, Harvard, USA since 1999.

In 2009, Eskild Petersen was elected Fellow of the Faculty of Travel Medicine, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, FFTM RCPSG.
